4th Annual Lutheran Wellness Day: A Day for Lutheran Pastors and Leaders

Sabbath: Focusing on Peace and Nonviolence

God Not Guns Coalition 

 

 

 

 

The Ohio Coalition Against Gun Violence has established September 26-28, 2008 as a weekend to focus on peace and nonviolence and asks that faith communities be particularly mindful of the focus in worship during those days.  Click [here] to read more about the commemoration, to view bulletin inserts and to obtain appropriate prayer intercessions.

Disaster Preparedness Training

 

The NEOS will sponsor a Level 1 & 2 Disaster Preparedness Training at the synod office on Saturday, October 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  All those who wish to participate in this important training should complete the registration form and return it by fax (740-732-6710) or mail to Lutheran Social Services, 810 Main Street, Caldwell, OH 43724.  For more information, please call 740-732-6700 or e-mail mwoodward_1@msn.com.

The Darfur Coalition of Summit/Stark Counties, Ohio

 

The Darfur Coalition of Summit/Stark Counties, Ohio will host a Darfur Awareness/Solidarity Day (Tents of Hope) on Sunday, October 19, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., at Fairlawn-West UCC, 2095 W. Grace Matters

 

Grace Matters is the weekly 30-minute radio program of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The program is currently heard station WHK-AM1420 (Cleveland), 7:30 am Sunday, WKVX-AM 960 (Wooster), 8:30 am Sunday and WZLP-FM 95.7 (Loudonville), 10:00 am Monday. It can also be heard online around the world.
